Rothwell United Church is blessed to have a trained and dedicated Pastoral Care Team. On Sunday they are identified by the green name tags and heart symbol or you can call the church office at 613-746-0820. Co-ordinators: Joanne McCrostie 613-746-3757 and Marg Griffons 613-746-3757.

The Pastoral Care Team responds to requests for spiritual comfort and support for those of our congregation who are experiencing times of personal or family distress.

Under the direction and support of Rev. Mike, Minister of Rothwell United Church, the team has visited members of our congregation who have been in hospital, are convalescing or confined at home.  To ensure that the church family is being cared for, a follow up is made with a phone call or visit. Monthly meetings are held on the second  Sunday of the month after church services.

This year was an active year as PCT members attended several Continuing Education Events offered in the Ottawa area.

Pastoral Care Team (PCT) members include: Rev. Mike Perreault, Joanne McCrostie, Margaret Griffiths (Co-Chairs) Joanne O’Byrne, Laurie O’Nanskie, Pauline Ritchie, Evelyn Budd, Gloria Manuel, Lise Shewchenko, June MacMillan and Keith Findley.

Interested in joining the Pastoral Care Team?
The PCT is actively recruiting new members. If you would like information please ask any member of the Pastoral Care team for a registration form to take the Pastoral Care Training Basic Course, you can also visit the website at
Members of the Pastoral Care Team are identified by the green name tags.  They are available to speak to you before and after church service.  If necessary, please call any one of the members as your wellbeing and concerns are important.

A very successful and appreciated Prayer Shawl Ministry was initiated in March of 2015.  This ministry reaches out to those who may require the warmth and embrace of God’s grace.  We thank the many talented members of the congregation who donate the beautifully knitted or crocheted shawls.
Prayer Shawls are available to all the congregation.  Any member of the Pastoral Care Team or the Church Office can assist you in obtaining a shawl.  Please record your name as the "donor" and the "recipient's name" (when possible) to avoid duplication.
Donations of wool are always welcome.  Softer type wools are more comforting. Thank you for your support.  Marg Griffiths and Joanne McCrostie.
